TUWC is a place where writing happens. Find out more about about the services the Writing Center offers to students and what a one-on-one session looks like.
Students can make appointments via our WC Online scheduling system. For help scheduling an appointment, check out these instructions, or come by the main desk in the ACE to speak with Becky Mills or one of our staffers.
Any student. Any subject.
Students from a range of courses and backgrounds use TUWC to help draft and develop texts — research papers, reflection essays, scholarship and job application letters, personal statements, and more. TUWC staffers are also quite good at working with students in developing oral presentations and visual materials.
Brainstorm, plan, deliver.
All TUWC one-on-one sessions are unique and involve collaboration between well-trained peer staffers and TU students. Staffers work with writers to understand assignment prompts, establish initial ideas, map concepts, and design revision plans.
Not just Grammarly.
Although many students bring drafts in various stages of development to sessions, some of our favorite, most productive work happens with just a prompt and time for planning and finding a topic. We also assist with line editing and grammar concerns as well.
A community environment.
According to our yearly surveys, the vast majority of student patrons view their sessions as friendly and productive, and TU students often schedule several appointments to develop a piece of writing over time. Learn more about our staffers.
