Sexual assault

Immediate Steps

If you have been recently sexually assaulted:

  • Ensure your safety: go to a safe place where you feel protected
  • Call 911 or campus safety ((859) 233-8118) if you are in danger.
  • Seek medical attention to address potential injuries, prevent sexually transmitted infections or pregnancy. 
  • Connect with 24/7 emergency support for survivors of sexual assault.
  • Contact the Title IX office to get academic, workplace, housing and other support services.

Other Actions to Consider

  • Reach out to a trusted person or advocate.
  • Consider a rape kit. 
  • Preserve evidence and document details. 
  • Connect with a confidential resource for therapeutic support.
  • Report to the Title IX office to file a complaint.
