Transylvania has distributed more than $400,000 in federal coronavirus relief funds over the past month to help students cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations.
“It is our sincere intention to deliver our traditional, on-campus experience this fall and resume the individualized, personal instruction for which Transylvania has been known for 240 years.”
Interim President Williams and President-Designate Lewis are working closely with their team at Transylvania, as well as other college presidents throughout Kentucky, to develop plans for a fall reopening of the campus while meeting public health directives.
Given guidance from the governor and the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, Transylvania University will be canceling its June summer camps.
My optimism is tinged with realism as we take in the constantly changing information available on the novel coronavirus pandemic and how our society is responding to it.
