On this day, 241 years ago, the Virginia State Legislature chartered the first institution of higher learning west of the Allegheny Mountains — what is today known as Transylvania University.
Transylvania University over the past year has welcomed three new members to its Board of Trustees, each bringing with them a wealth of leadership experience and a strong desire to prepare students for fulfilling lives.
The clinic is for people ages 16 and older and is open to Transylvania students, faculty, staff, family members, alumni and the local community.
