Incoming and returning Transylvania students who wish to apply for federal and state aid, grants and work-study funds toward their college tuition can still fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It is the most important step in the financial aid process, and students should file a FAFSA application as soon as possible.
The FAFSA is designed to be simple to complete. Tips throughout the application help you understand the questions, and most people finish filling out the FAFSA in less than half an hour.
Completing the FAFSA is the key to unlocking financial aid. “Nearly every applicant who files the FAFSA receives some type of aid, with an average package of approximately $34,000 per year,” said Rhyan Conyers, who oversees Transylvania’s financial aid program. “It’s the most important step you can take toward making your college dream a reality.”
“The good news for prospective students is that Transylvania is still accepting applications and offering scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year,” said Julie Sams, director of admissions. “We realize that because of this year’s issues with the new FAFSA rollout, some families have needed more time this year to make college decisions. We want you to know that Transylvania is a great option and we’re here to help you get started.”
To submit a FAFSA, you will need to create Federal Student Aid account to get started. Then, go to the FAFSA website and be sure to use Transylvania’s school code: 001987. Get more information. The application is completely free; families shouldn’t pay for services to complete the form for them.
