Transylvania University welcomes alumni back to campus next week for four days of fun events.

Register here for this year’s Alumni Weekend from April 24-27, when Pioneers will reconnect with each other and their favorite professors — on campus and about town.

“It’s always great to welcome alumni back to campus for our annual Alumni Weekend,” said Natasa Mongiardo ’96, director of alumni engagement. “This year, we are especially excited about the Transy Through the Decades Dinner and Dancing event on Saturday evening. Alumni and guests will enjoy a Taste of Kentucky buffet from 6:30-8 p.m. in a large tent on the Old Morrison lawn.”

Also that evening, class reunion photos will be taken on the steps of historic Old Morrison — beginning with the Class of 1965. Plus, there’ll be great music. “The area’s well-known 12-piece band Mercy Men will take the stage at 8 p.m., so wear your dancing shoes,” Mongiardo added. “However, be aware that while we have a dance floor, the grass may be wet and soggy thanks to Kentucky weather.”

Other Saturday activities include an Alumni Celebration Convocation, where the university will celebrate this year’s recipients of honors like the Morrison Medallion and Outstanding Young Alumni Award. Also on tap are campus tours, lunch in the Great Hall, a 100 Doors Mentor Reception, Greek Open House, the Dugi Fest celebration of professor Don Dugi’s 50 years at the school and several affinity group gatherings.

Additionally, Transylvania alumni will head Back to Class on that Friday to sit in on a variety of fascinating courses — from Interwoven Histories of Europe and Africa with professors Simonetta Cochis and Priya Ananth to Communication and Sport with professor Gary Deaton.

Alumni Weekend will also feature horse farm tours, reunion dinners and socials, the Robert Barr Society Breakfast for the Class of 1975, a Old Morrison Chapel service, and more. For those arriving on Thursday, check out the outstanding lineup of successful alumni at the Alumni TOPs Panel in Carrick Theater at 6:30 p.m.

Here’s the full schedule of events.

“I can’t wait to see everyone soon,” Mongiardo said.
