Transylvania University’s marketing and communications team earned top honors in the 40th annual Educational Advertising Awards, securing three gold, one silver and two merit awards for their 2024 work. Notably, five of the six awards specifically highlight the team’s innovative video production efforts.
The Educational Advertising Awards benchmark advertising programs and campaigns “against the best in the country.” A national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors and marketing and advertising professionals judged the entries based on creativity, marketing execution and message impact.
This year’s competition saw over 2,000 entries from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools across all 50 states and internationally. With only 432 gold awards presented and less than half of all entries receiving recognition, Transylvania’s achievement of earning an award in every category submitted underscores the team’s commitment to dynamic and engaging storytelling.
“Building on our consistent recognition in recent years, we’re especially thrilled that this year’s Educational Advertising Awards highlight our informative, innovative and fun content,” said Megan Moloney, vice president for marketing and communications. “With four video awards and our online magazine’s video-rich features, it’s clear that our expanded approach to visually telling the Transylvania story in engaging and dynamic ways is resonating.”
For 2024, Transylvania presented its work in six categories, including print, graphic design and digital media. The awards include:
- Gold awards presented for the Third & Broadway online magazine launched in 2024, a graduation-themed TikTok post and a new college fair printed handout.
- A Silver award for an Instagram video announcing the new Transylvania women’s basketball head coach.
- Merit awards for videos that take a look back at Transylvania’s 2024 commencement ceremony, as well as a 30-second video ad.
According to program organizers, the Educational Advertising Awards is the largest, oldest and most respected educational advertising awards competition in the country.
