Transylvania University baseball is stepping up to the plate for more than just the win Saturday.

The Pioneers are hosting a Legends Field doubleheader against Westminster College beginning at noon with proceeds benefiting Movember, an international effort to promote men’s health that asks participants to grow mustaches during November.

“Men’s health awareness is something that has come to mean a lot to me and my family over the years, and working with college-aged males has shown that even more,” Director of Sports Medicine Kyle Sutton said. “We need to be better about taking care of ourselves both physically and mentally.”

Movember tackles some of the most pressing health challenges faced by men, including mental health and suicide prevention, along with prostate and testicular cancer.

At the ballpark Saturday, information about Movember and men’s health will be shared, and fans can learn how to support Movember’s life-saving work. Keep an eye on the video board for a QR code to scan and donate directly to Movember.
