It was a sweet Valentine’s treat for Transylvania as the university’s Together for Transy annual day of giving showed the love from alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends. The event, held Feb. 13, secured a total of $543,299.51 in donations, the second-highest total in the event’s nine-year history.
“We are so grateful for each and every donor who made Together for Transy an extraordinary success,” said Kara Little Covert ’90, vice president of advancement. “For 245 years the generosity of Transy family and community members has helped us deliver the educational excellence for which we are known. We are deeply thankful for your unwavering support and dedication to Transy — you are the driving force behind the bright future of our Pioneers.”
Key highlights of the day include:
- 1,206 donors contributed, with donations received from all 50 U.S. states, unlocking a $15,000 “On the Map Challenge” reward.
- 88 current students made gifts, securing an additional $5,000 in challenge dollars, and the Transy Family Challenge surpassed its goal by 205%.
- The Class of 1990 won the “Raise a Glass Challenge” with a 9.1% participation rate.
- Men’s Lacrosse won the Athletics Challenge leading in total dollars raised – $6,440.51. Field Hockey secured a $3,500 challenge bonus.
