School community to join Together for Transy on annual day of giving Thursday

Supporters of Transylvania University are showing their love this Valentine’s week by joining in Together for Transy.

Thursday’s annual day of giving will not only make a lasting impact on current and future Pioneers, but it will also offer a chance for friends of the university to celebrate what makes the school so special.

Their generosity will support scholarships, academics, athletics and more. Money raised through Together for Transy goes toward a variety of programs, such as The Transylvania Fund meeting the greatest needs of students.

Now in its ninth year, Together for Transy benefits Pioneers like Simon Bullmer ’26. “Receiving my scholarship felt like both a relief and a responsibility,” he said. “I felt relieved that the financial pressures of attending college had been lifted off of my family, while also feeling responsible to make the most of Transylvania’s investment in my future.”

Together for Transy includes fun activities like the ever-popular Heart and Sole (sock) challenge and On the Map — where each state represented raises an additional $300 and donations from all 50 bring in an extra $15,000.

Other challenges and giveaways Thursday will unite Transylvania fraternities and sororities, sports teams, families, faculty and staff, new donors and, in keeping with the holiday, Pioneer Pairs (alumni couples).

Follow along with the day’s events as we count down to Together for Transy — an exciting opportunity to support a 245-year-old institution dedicated to academic excellence and giving students a personalized approach to their liberal arts education.
