Michelle L. Bliffen, a strategic human resources leader, started as Transylvania University’s new vice president for HR on Monday.
Having served in top roles at both educational and financial institutions, Bliffen is an innovative executive focused on creating a successful and rewarding workplace.
“In keeping with Transylvania’s culture of excellence, I look forward to attracting, developing and retaining outstanding employees who will help the university achieve its Strategic Plan,” Bliffen said. “I’m honored and excited to begin my new role.”
She previously worked as chief operating officer and vice president of human resources at UK Federal Credit Union, where she provided strategic leadership across departments. Bliffen also served in a lead HR role at the University of Kentucky — and most recently, she was a strategic consultant and facilitator for the C. Myers Corporation in Phoenix.
Bliffen earned a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration (marketing) from Eastern Kentucky University.
“Through Michelle’s leadership, we will be able to leverage the work of our talented staff and faculty to ensure Transylvania is not only a great place to work but also a top-notch liberal arts institution,” President Brien Lewis said.
