You’re invited to Transylvania University on Dec. 6 for a beloved seasonal tradition.
“A Gift of Holiday Music” will feature the chamber orchestra, concert band and combined choirs at 7 p.m. in Haggin Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
“I’m honored to be a part of this great tradition at Transy,” said professor Lawrence Spell, director of instrumental ensembles. “A holiday concert is a fun way to come together and celebrate as a community at the end of the semester.”
The festive event, which the school has presented for three decades, is also a way to help out the community during the holiday season. Nonperishable food donations will be accepted for God’s Pantry during the show.
The evening will also include members of the faculty and staff joining student performers to sing familiar Christmas carols.
The concert isn’t the only seasonal offering on tap in the Mitchel Fine Arts Center, which is ringing in the holidays as part of its inaugural professional performance season.
