Transylvania University’s sorority recruitment begins today with a new process designed to be less stressful, offering more opportunities for potential members to meet with chapters.
Kicking off this partially structured recruitment, which the Panhellenic Council approved, is an orientation today at 5 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Pioneer Rooms, followed by flower pot decorating on the back patio. Bid day is Sept. 22.
All potential members are invited to this week’s Open House events, regardless of whether they’ve registered. If they’d then like to register after participating in the first few days of the process, they can officially receive a bid.
“We hope that a more relaxed schedule puts any fears at ease, and a peek behind the curtain at an Open House event encourages an official registration,” said Candy Rivera Evans, assistant director of campus and community engagement.
Sign up for recruitment here by Friday.
“We know that many of our students balance multiple commitments like athletics, off-campus jobs and commuting to campus, so having multiple opportunities to connect with chapters over a slightly longer period of time would allow for more members to join our organizations,” Rivera Evans added.
Recently named No. 9 in the Lots of Greek Life category by The Princeton Review, Transylvania has five sororities and five fraternities that are rich in history and an important part of campus life. Check out the 2024-25 Fraternity and Sorority Life lookbook.
