Photo booths and a reception greeted the nominees for the 2024 Broadway Awards. Winners were selected from 230 submissions in 30 categories. Organized and presented by the Campus and Community Engagement team, awards were presented in four overall categories — intramurals, esports, fraternity and sorority life and leadership.
Nominations were shared with a review committee of staff and faculty, including Olivia Fleming, Kurt Ghode, Laura Scroggins, Graham Thomason and Rachel Wilson.
Five awards were presented in the intramurals category:
Intramural Athlete of the Year – Amanda Kanatzar
The intramural athlete of the year is awarded to the participant who is active in the most sports/activities and displays a positive attitude.

Intramurals Most Improved Athlete – Emily Long
The intramural most improved athlete of the year is awarded to the participant who has shown the most improvement throughout their season and showcases good sportsmanship and a positive attitude.

Intramurals Team of the year – Phi Mu/The NBMus
Intramurals Team of the Year is the team that encourages and demonstrates participation in intramural sports. They are cooperative and exhibit good sportsmanship toward all.

Intramurals Supporter of the Year – Grace Ransdell
Intramurals Supporters of the Year goes to the person/persons that consistently cheers on others at intramural events. They show up and show out, while being respectful. They may or may not play on a team.

Coordinators Award for Most Creative Team Name – Notorious D.I.G.
Two awards were presented in the esportss category:
Esports Most Improved Player of the Year – Madalyn Stump
The most improved Esports player of the year is awarded to the participant who has shown the most improvement throughout their season and showcases good sportsmanship and a positive attitude.

Esports Player of the Year – Zen Santos
The Esports player of the year is awarded to the player who is active in the most teams and displays a positive attitude.

Interfraternity Council Spirit – Jack Thomas, Delta Sigma Phi
The Interfraternity Council spirit award goes to a member of the IFC community who supports all events and initiatives regardless of chapter affiliation.
Interfraternity Council Service – Sean Gannon, Delta Sigma Phi
The Interfraternity Council Service award goes to a member of the IFC community who gives back to the overall community through volunteer and philanthropic efforts.

Interfraternity Council Scholar – Owen Schmidt, Delta Sigma Phi
The Interfraternity Council Scholar award goes to a member of the IFC community who is committed to academic excellence and encourages involvement of their peers to do the same.

Fraternity Member of the Year – Will Fries, Kappa Alpha Order
The Fraternity Member of the year is the embodiment of what a fraternity member should be. They are a role model, a mentor and a friend to all.

Panhellenic Council Spirit – Charlotte Green, Chi Omega
The Panhellenic Council spirit award goes to a member of the Panhellenic community who supports all events and initiatives regardless of chapter affiliation.

Panhellenic Council Service – Kaycee Moore, Chi Omega

This Rising Leader award is given to someone who demonstrates emerging leadership traits such as attending leadership workshops and sessions, takes on additional responsibilities and does them well, and encourages their peers to get involved.

The Commitment to Justice Award goes to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to justice and or has been an activist, trying to create positive change for the campus or community.

The Outstanding Achievement award is designed to recognize an outstanding member for all of their hard work to one or more student organizations.

The Membership Development award is for a club or organization that serves the needs of their members through speakers, workshops, retreats, conferences, and other acts to educate its members.

The Community Impact Award goes to the group contributing time, support, or money locally to better the Fayette County community.

New Group/Organization of the Year – Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.
The New Group/Organization of the year is an award that recognizes a club that has put forth the effort to enhance the Transy community and has maintained strong and consistent operations.

The Advisor of the Year must have a strong role within the group and have helped the students learn through their involvement. The nominee should demonstrate dedication, availability, and energy in their involvement with their students.

Leaders in Action – Black Student Alliance
The Leaders in Action award recognizes a club or organization that has placed a strong emphasis on leadership development and campus involvement.

Spirit of Transylvania – Phi Mu
This award is presented to an organization that has made a significant effort to further its purpose through its contribution to Transy and the Lexington community. The Spirit of Transylvania Award embodies the Transy spirit through its commitment to leadership development, collaboration among groups, and programmatic efforts. The student organization of the year is considered a role model for other organizations on our campus.
