For Uniting Voices Lexington, a youth empowerment and music education nonprofit that launched this school year, Transylvania University is their rehearsal home. To commemorate an exciting first year of programs, they’re holding an inaugural fundraising event.
“The support and love we’ve already received from the community in our first program year has been awe inspiring,” said Michael Preacely, the group’s artistic director. “Our ensemble has grown to nearly 30 singers, and we’ve performed on some of Lexington’s biggest stages, including the Central Bank Convention Center and the Mitchell Fine Arts Center” at Transylvania.
To celebrate the inaugural year, Uniting Voices is hosting “Resonance” at the Loudon House from 6–9 p.m. on April 25. The evening will showcase the work of young singers and future leaders coming together to celebrate the inspiration, inclusion and expression of Lexington’s youth.
“‘Resonance’ will give us a chance to continue this momentum of our first year while raising crucial funds to keep these programs accessible to our families and the youth of the Bluegrass region,” Preacley said.
Tickets for the performance are available online.
