Transylvania University is offering transfer assistance to students from Cincinnati Christian University, which announced this week it is closing at the end of 2019. Transfer applications are open now for the university’s winter term, which starts on Jan. 6.
“Transylvania University welcomes students from Cincinnati Christian to consider us as a transfer option,” said Johnnie Johnson, interim vice president for enrollment and director of admissions. “We provide the small classes, professor-student interaction and a caring campus community, similar to what Cincinnati Christian students have received during their time there.”
Students can apply for free online by Dec. 1. Transcripts from CCU, final high school transcripts, a letter of recommendation or statement of good standing, and an essay or writing sample must also be submitted with the application.
“We will provide students from Cincinnati Christian assistance and will offer flexibility for transfer credits earned with a minimum grade of C-,” said Michael Cairo, interim vice president for academic affairs and dean of the university. “We will make every attempt to adapt credits earned at Cincinnati Christian to Transylvania’s curriculum.”
Academic scholarships to Transylvania are available for all transfer students. To be eligible for other forms of aid, students should make sure their FAFSA has been filed and Transylvania has been added (code 001987).
CCU transfer students are welcome to visit campus, sit in on classes, take a campus tour and get all of their questions answered. Sign up for a tour online.
