Transylvania University’s ‘Cabaret FM’ will bring the feel of a radio program in front of a live audience to Carrick Theater on Friday.
The 7:30 p.m. show, which is part of a longstanding tradition of cabarets at the university, is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
Performers will include the Transylvania Choir, Transylvania Singers, Grace Notes and other solo performers.
“It’s eclectic, it’s fun, it’s quite light hearted,” said Regan MacNay, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities. “The audience is going to be part of a radio program.”
During the show, the radio host will introduce a variety of musical performances—from Broadway musicals to ’50s doo-wop to a mashup of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”
“It’s going to be a very fun show,” MacNay said.
