President Seamus Carey announced today Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the University Laura Bryan, who has held the position since July 2015, has accepted a position outside the university. Transylvania will begin a national search for a permanent vice president and dean immediately with the goal of filling the position before the start of the 2019-20 academic year.
“Laura Bryan joined our team during a time of renewal for our community. She has worked diligently to enhance the personal, academic and professional achievement of both our students and educators,” President Carey said.
Bryan will begin as the T.G. Lewis Faculty Scholar in Organizational Behavior at the University of Kentucky in March, a position that returns her to the classroom.
“I am excited about this faculty opportunity because I am passionate about preparing future leaders to realize their potential by helping them understand their individual effectiveness in the context of organizations and the world of work,” Bryan said.
An interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the University will be named in the coming days and take over the role beginning Feb. 16.
