Course Requirements

General pharmacy school requirements include:

  • Two semesters of general biology with laboratories
  • Two semesters of general chemistry with laboratories
  • Two semesters of organic chemistry with laboratories
  • Two semesters of physics with laboratories
  • Two semesters of English
  • One semester of calculus
  • One semester of microeconomics
  • One semester of microbiology with laboratory
  • One semester of statistics
  • One semester of human anatomy
  • Public speaking required by some colleges
  • 10–19 hours of elective courses

Suggested course work arrangement:

First semester

  • CHEM 1055 Principles of Chemistry I
  • MATH 1304 Calculus I
  • FLA 1004 Foundations of Liberal Arts I or FYS 1004 First-Year Seminar

Second semester

  • CHEM 1065 Principles of Chemistry II
  • BIO 1044 Biological Interactions
  • FLA 1104 Foundations of Liberal Arts II or FYS 1104 First-Year Research Seminar

Third semester

  • CHEM 2155 Organic Chemistry I
  • BIO 2304 Cell and Molecular Biology

Fourth semester

  • CHEM 2165 Organic Chemistry II

Fifth semester

  • PHYS 2115 University Physics I

Sixth semester

  • PHYS 2125 University Physics II

To be taken as schedule allows:
