Professor Don Dugi, who received the 2003 Kentucky Professor of the Year Award from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, conducted a three-year program that encouraged the Transylvania community to investigate the concept of race both as an intellectual and pedagogical concern. Professor Dugi also advises students interested in attending law school.
Professor Michael Cairo's book, The Gulf: The Bush Presidencies and the Middle East, was published by University Press of Kentucky in November 2012. Transylvania's political science program emphasizes research and the value of pursuing graduate studies in the field.
With his expertise in British politics, professor Jeff Freyman has helped students gain acceptance to a London-based program that imparts academic and practical knowledge of the British political system through rigorous academic courses and internships.
Transylvania University admits students regardless of age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, national origin, or any other classification protected by federal or state law or local ordinance.
