The exercise science major provides the foundation for a broad range of post-graduate opportunities.
The curriculum covers the science behind human movement to help students understand the complex relationships among physical activity, health, and wellness. Students can then apply the concepts learned in class to practical experiences through internships at physical and occupational therapy practices, corporate wellness centers, and sports medicine clinics.
Exercise science majors at Transylvania benefit from the Clive M. Beck Athletic and Recreation Center, a 97,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that accommodates varsity sports, intramurals, fitness activities, and casual recreation.
While the center was designed for all Transylvania students, it superbly fills the curricular needs of the exercise science program, offering three classrooms, an exercise physiology lab, a dance studio with sprung floor, and a training room with hydrotherapy facilities.
Transylvania University admits students regardless of age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, national origin, or any other classification protected by federal or state law or local ordinance.
