Transylvania University has endured and prospered as a leader in higher education in part because every year hundreds of parents just like you entrust us with the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of their children. It is a privilege we take very seriously.
This section of our website outlines information that you may find helpful as you become involved in our campus community. In addition, throughout the year, we will send you invitations to campus events such as Family Weekend and a campus calendar listing lectures, concerts, plays, and sports events. I hope to see you at many of these events. Additionally, you will receive Transylvania magazine in November, March, and July, plus information about how to take part in the Parents Fund. By getting involved in the Transylvania community you will see firsthand the personal attention your student receives here.
Getting to know your sons and daughters is a part of my role as president of Transylvania that gives me great satisfaction. Among the advantages of a small college are the many opportunities I have to talk with students informally, often in Haupt Plaza, the crossroads of our campus. And I look forward to watching our students give their best efforts on stage, in the concert hall, on the playing field, and in other venues. There are so many enjoyable moments, but perhaps none is more rewarding that presenting students with their hard-earned diplomas at commencement.
Welcome to the Transylvania family,
R. Owen Williams
