An English major gives you a good foundation for a variety of careers.
We live in a society that needs to circulate information widely and accurately. English majors, with their training in analytic reading and careful communication, are well-placed to do this necessary work in many different environments.
Transy English majors have moved into jobs straight after graduation, using their editing and writing skills in various ways. Some of our majors have moved into various pre-professional programs, including law, Graduate Schools in literature, arts administration, journalism, and medicine. Others, with the proper certification, have found teaching positions in regional high schools.
Program faculty are here to advise you as you consider your preferences and Transy's Career Development Center can help you take the practical steps you need before graduating.
