William T. Young Campus Center
The 36,500-square-foot William T. Young Campus Center provides space for a variety of recreational and sports uses and other activities.
The Campus Center features a six-lane, NCAA competition-size swimming and diving facility that is used by Transylvania’s swimming and diving team and is also open for two daily sessions of free and lap swimming during the school year. A skylight runs the length of the pool to light the area naturally.
The William T. Young Campus Center is a vital part of the campus community at Transylvania, offering many services and amenities to students, faculty, administrators, alumni, and guests. The Campus Center hosts major campus events, programs, and organization meetings while also serving as a recreational center. The facility helps unify the life of the University and serves as an educational program to the student staff it employs.
The Campus Center includes a handball and racquetball court, which may also be used for wallyball, and a game room with billiards tables, ping-pong tables, and a dartboard.
The multipurpose gymnasium, meeting rooms, and student organization offices in the Campus Center make it a focal point for major campus events, programs, and organization meetings.
The center is named in honor of William T. Young, Transylvania's former Board of Trustees chairman.
