The 36,500-square-foot William T. Young Campus Center provides space for a variety of recreational and sports uses, student activities and university events.
The center features an Olympic weightlifting facility for student athletes, men's and women's locker rooms, and a six-lane, NCAA competition-size swimming and diving facility that is used by Transylvania’s swimming and diving team. The pool is open for two daily sessions of free and lap swimming during the school year.
The multipurpose gymnasium, meeting rooms, and student involvement center in the Campus Center make it a focal point for major campus events, programs, and student organization meetings.
For student convenience and accessibility, the center also houses the Health and Wellness Center and Counseling Services, the Crimson Card office, and a number of student life offices.
The center is named in honor of William T. Young, Transylvania's former Board of Trustees chairman.
The William T. Young Campus Center is a vital part of the campus community at Transylvania, offering many services and amenities to students, faculty, administrators, alumni, and guests. The Campus Center hosts major campus events, programs, and organization meetings while also serving as a recreational center.
