Sodexo/Dining Services asks faculty, staff, students and guests to wear orange for the day. Also, there will be free lunches for students who bring in five non-perishable food items that will fit in the backpack of a local child. These are kids who don’t have good food options on the weekends.

American Spiritual Ensemble

The ensemble, which includes celebrated vocalists from across the U.S., performs a varied repertoire, from Negro spirituals to classical works to Broadway tunes. Throughout its history, Kentucky has been home to an uncommon wealth of respected writers, and tiny Transylvania currently claims several of them. Capture a glimpse of their talent by joining Martha Gehringer, Jeremy Paden, a member of the Affrilachian Poets, Maurice Manning, a 2011 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry finalist, and Richard Taylor, former Kentucky poet laureate, as they read from their work.
