When you join us this fall, you'll find that campus life includes many special and rewarding experiences, and being part of our residential community enhances those opportunities. Professional staff members, along with 23 resident advisers (RAs) and three area coordinators, are trained to assist with your personal development and community building. This part of your education complements the academic components. Because of our commitment to co-curricular learning, we require all new students to live on campus unless one of the conditions outlined in the housing requirements policy is met.
New students are matched with roommates in a manner that has worked quite effectively in the past. Our residence life staff and admissions counselors meet and, using your answers from the Roommate Matching Form, pair roommates who have similar interests or appear to be compatible. You will be notified of your roommate assignment in early July. This allows ample time for you to contact your roommate and make mutual decisions about furnishing and decorating the room. If you already know another entering student with whom you would like to live, we will strive to honor your request. List your intended roommate's name on your Roommate Matching Form, and be sure that person lists your name.
Transylvania University admits students regardless of age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, national origin, or any other classification protected by federal or state law or local ordinance.
