Approved Study Abroad Programs

REQUIREMENT:  Students who want to study abroad in semester and/or summer programs MUST first consult with the study abroad office and complete a Transylvania Study Abroad Application.

Listed below are programs that have been approved for transfer credit by Transylvania's Faculty Committee on Admissions and Academic Standards.  Participation in these programs does not require students to petition for credit transfer.  Approval for general education or major/ minor requirements must be granted separately by the registrar and/ or academic program directors.

  1. Transy/ London Term at Regent's College
  2. Kentucky Institute for International Studies programs (KIIS)
  3. Programs sponsored by U.S. accredited institutions, such as:
     
    American University of Rome
    The College of Global Studies, Arcadia University
    Institute for Study Abroad, Butler University
    Michigan State University
    The School for International Training (SIT)

  4. Programs sponsored by the following non-profit institutions:

    Budapest Semester in Mathematics
    Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS)
    Firenze Arti Visive
    GlobaLinks Abroad
    Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE)
    Institute for the International Education of Students (IES)
    International Partnership for Service Learning (IPSL)
    The School for Field Studies

  5. Direct Enrollment at the following foreign universities:

McGill University

Japan:
Kansai Gaidai University

United Kingdom:
Hansard Program for the Study of Parliamentary Government

Lancaster University
London School of Economics and Political Science
University of Edinburgh
University of Glasgow
University of London
University of St. Andrews
University of Sussex

Participation in all programs requires the approval of the Director of Study Abroad, the Registrar, and academic program directors.  Participation in and transfer credit from programs not on this list requires CAAS approval of a written petition.  Please contact the Office of Study Abroad at 421 N.
