Pioneer Stories: Prya Murad
“In a liberal arts environment like Transylvania's, you can get interdisciplinary training that will prepare you for the kind of law you want to do.”
Prya Murad is using her education at Transylvania to prepare herself for a career in law, but not in the way you might think. She's a biology and philosophy major, two subjects not always associated with a typical undergraduate law track. Part of her training came from summer internship experiences at the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University, where she studied at the schools' bioethics centers.
Mentorship from her biology and philosophy professors stirred up an interest in bioethics law, and Murad was recently accepted into the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science, where she'll complete a one-year master of science program in biomedicine, bioscience, and society.
